Local Community Outreach

Our facilities are used by a variety of organizations including support groups, music performance and exercise groups.

We are also engaged with the community in a number of other ways:

Advent and Lenten Offerings: Annually, for each season, a special offering is collected to support a local not-for-profit group.

Benevolent Fund: The Benevolent Fund provides a means of grace for those who seek assistance from us. The Fund is used most often to purchase grocery gift cards and also contributes towards cost-of-living needs in unexpected situations among people at St. Andrew’s and in our community. An anonymous donor augments our gift certificates from Air Miles which allows us to do even more.

Christmas Hampers: Hampers of food delivered to families through the Salvation Army Program in time for Christmas dinner.

Crystal Springs Manor: Crystal Springs Manor was founded as a joint project with St. Thomas’ Anglican Church and St. Andrew’s By-The-lake United Church to provide affordable retirement housing in our local community. The Board of Directors consists of two members from each congregation as well as a member from the local business community, each elected to a rotating three-year term. The ministers from each congregation are ‘ex officio’ members of the Board.

Lunch and Learn: A light lunch is provided and a guest speaker invited to share information about their not-for-profit group. The free-will offering collected is donated to the speaker’s group.

Partners In Mission Food Bank: Items and donations are collected throughout the year and given to the Food Bank on a monthly basis (4th week of the month).

Jingle Bell Tea & Sale: The Jingle Bell Tea & Sale is held annually in November. Venders rent tables and the Church has beverages and food for sale as well as a bake table.

Music West: Music West presents a series of concerts annually for the Kingston West Community
